The Freedom Charter from rowan pybus & faith47 on Vimeo.
It seems as time goes on, the more I find that all of my favourite street art/ graffiti in the Mother City is by Faith47. The first I knew by her is the fantastic All Shall Be Equal Before the Law on Queen Victoria St in the CBD. I was really taken by it and found out weeks after I first saw it that it was by Faith. It turns out it’s part of her series on the Freedom Charter with pieces throughout Cape Town and Johannesburg. I’ve photographed a few more pieces from that series below. Like much of her work, it’s thought-provoking and beautiful.

Another prominent piece is on De Waal Dr. as you head out of the city. Its a building-sized mural, dominated by red, of a women and a TV. On the N2, one can see “The Restless Debt of Third World Beauty”. In Obs is “Neoliberalism = Colonialism”.
Keep your eyes open and you’ll see plenty of her work. Secrets that are there for everyone to see.

i’ve always been drawn to faith’s street art too. i always used to stop for a little while longer to stare at the mural on keizersgracht street, as you come off eastern boulevard.
